Tim and I were talking about Austin the other day, and just how lucky we are. He is an amazing kid! He is very well behaved, has slept through the night since he was 8 weeks, always sweet, always smiling..I mean really there has to be something very wrong for him to get upset. I really have to say that while I do believe that part of having such an awesome kid is luck but you have to admit part of it has to be parenting!! LOL not trying to toot my own horn or anything, but Tim and I were talking about how we know parents who have kids OLDER than Austin that are not good sleepers. I would go crazy if Austin still wasn't sleeping through the night. He is so good, every night we say "Ok its night night time" We carry him upstairs, he waves goodnight (which is so cute!), we read our story, we put him in the crib..and that's it! No fights, no screaming, no trying to get out of bed. He goes right to sleep. I truly believe that we have BabyWise to thank for that! I have used it from day one with Austin and plan to do the same with Baby #2. Some people think it's a little harsh, saying that if your child isn't sleeping through the night by age 12 weeks then you're doing something wrong! But honestly, I agree. There is no reason for the constant up and down, esp when they are as old as Austin is. I also believe that a child's demeanour has a lot to do with what kind of sleeper they are. Little ones can't be expected to be happy and well behaved all the time if they are constantly tired! So if you or anyone you know is having "sleeping issues" get the book Babywise and start over! LOL
Next on our parenting adventure...potty training! We are about 2 days away from being out of diapers. When we run out, I'm not buying any more! We will attempt potty training. I know Austin is still young so if it's a NO go I will wait a few more months, But he is showing so many signs of being ready that I'm hoping it works!! wish us luck!

I completely agree that sleep is so important with little ones. Aiden was an amazing sleeper for us. But be prepared...I was totally thrown for a loop when Asher came along. That child didn't want to sleep for anything and would scream for hours (if I let him) when I put him in his bed. I had never imagined it would have been that hard because with Aiden it was so easy. I hope your baby #2 was easier on you then mine ;)
