Galveston is back baby!

We went down to the beach house in Galveston to celebrate the 4th of July. This is a long running tradition with my family so I was very excited to go down since we were in Padre last year. I had not been down after hurricane Ike, so I was also curious to see what the island looked like. I have to say it is amazing! It has been less than a year since Ike came through and most people have already rebuilt or are in the process. On Friday we went down to the strand and did some shopping, everyone was open for business and happy to have us there. Of course there is still some very noticeable damage but considering it is less than a year later I am amazed. Also, the beach was clean, the water was nice, and the island was packed! Everyone was back in force and ready to celebrate the 4th! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Tim, Austin and I have been on vacation for 2 weeks now. Tim goes back to work later this week, boo! back to the real world! But we sure did have a great vacation this year!
