GT BABY!
Austin is a genius! GG Claussen ordered a program called "your baby can read" for her great grand kids. Once I learned what it was all about I was very excited to use it with Austin. We got Grandma Mo to mail it to us so that we could start using it at home. Today was our first day, and I have to say my kid is so smart! haha! The program consists of DVDs, books, flash cards and more. On the DVD they show the word and then show a child acting out the word. One of the words on our DVD today was Crawl. Now Austin has been doing what I call "army" crawling for a while now, but he had yet to figure out the hand knee action. Well after he watched the DVD I sat him down to play with some toys and sure enough he crawled right across the floor! Coincidence? Or did he really see the babies crawling on the DVD and figure it out??? The other fun thing to watch today was his reaction to the word DOG. I hadn't really thought about referring to Tinkerbell (our schnauzer) as just DOG. When we were reading the book and Austin saw the word dog and a picture of a dog he got really happy and started petting Tinkerbell! So yes I am a proud Mommy today. I'm really excited about continuing this program with Austin. I think he will take to it very quickly!

how neat! yeah, Madison actually started calling Holleigh 'dog', so we just refer to Holleigh as dog most of the time now. isn't it amazing how much babies actually absorb and take in without us realizing it? I guess that's how babies take to sign language and understanding more than one language so quickly. they are little sponges- soaking up every bit!
