This week..

Yesterday Austin and I made a visit to Grace Episcopal Church to check out their preschool. Even though everyone was very nice, Austin seemed to love it, and the facility was awesome..i felt like crying the entire time! It doesn't seem like it should be such a hard decision to send your kiddo off to "school" but it is! I know part of it is I'm super emotional right now because of the pregnancy, but I really have had a hard time deciding if this is whats best for Austin. I don't want him to be bord this fall, and with the baby coming that is a high possibility since we wont be getting out as much..at least for a few months I'm sure. He is such a high energy inquisitive kid that I know he will need something to keep him busy. I've always been of the opinion that if you are a stay at home Mommy then sending your kiddo to "Preschool" when they are really little is just a nice way of saying they go to Daycare..and I do NOT want Austin in "day care" so I knew an all week program was out for sure. I really liked the school we looked at, but he would have to go 2 or 3 days a week..and I just don't think I'm ready for that. We are going to look at another school on Tuesday, this one has a once a week program..i guess kinda like a "mothers day out". I'm hoping that we like it and that I can make a final decision on this...without crying too much! lol

In other news...we had a great day at the pool with our friends! we were there for 4 hours! Mommy got lots of sun =) and then we came home and took a great nap! For dinner I threw together homemade chicken noodle soup, but used cheese tortellini (because thats all i had haha!) and it was so yummy! Austin ate two bowls! Tomorrow, we are off to the library! They are having their big End of Summer show that i'm sure will be fun. Tomorrow night..Book club! Which means cheesecake and coffee!! hehe!

34 weeks!

we are getting closer..or are we? LOL So I have a big update..I am officially trying for a VBAC! (Vaginal birth after Cesarean). This is something that I had been thinking about for a while and finally decided to talk to my Dr. about it when I was there two weeks ago. Once I found out he was totally on board with it, I started doing my research! I also shared this with some of my friends who have all been incredibly supportive! SO..I went in for my 34 week visit this morning and told the Dr. that I had decided I want to give it a shot! He was excited for me! I'm so lucky to have a Dr. who is open to this! These days most aren't! Soo..we are on Baby Time!! The C-section for August 25th has been canceled =) The only thing is I will have to go into labor all on my own. They will not use any kind of drugs to induce me because this raises your risk for uterine rupture. My Dr. is going to let me go one week past my due date, to give baby M some extra time to come out on his own. Of course If I DON'T go into labor by September 9th, then we will be doing a C-section. I'm really OK with all of these decisions. I feel this is a much better path to be on than heading straight to the operating room. But at the same time I know that if we do end up with a c-section that its not the end of the world! I at least want to be able to say "I gave it a shot!" I'm feeling really good about everything!! So now lets just hope that Baby M got the memo, and will be ready to come out by September 9th! LOL =)

32 Weeks

How far along are you? 32 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Two weeks ago I had gained a grand total of 7lbs, but this week when I went to the Dr. I had lost about 3lbs... Baby is measuring to dates and his heart beat is strong. So..if i have lost anymore when I go back in two weeks they will do a scan just to make sure baby is growing OK. =)

Maternity clothes? oh yes..anything that will keep me cool!

Best moment this week: Uncle Matt came to stay with us for a few days and I really love how cute he is with Austin! Austin is calling him "Mayo" and just wants to follow him around and do everything he does! Matthew is the best Uncle ever, he just loves Austin to death! It's really special to see that bond between them =)

Movement: YEP, still moving all the time..but now they are hard kicks and rolls across my stomach! its crazy!

Food cravings: I really wanted some Nerds the other day...weird I know.

Gender: It's a boy!! ALL BOY!

Labor Signs: not yet. The Dr. did check me this week and baby is super low..which would explain why I am feeling SOOOO much pressure!!

Belly Button in or out? still a flat innie thank goodness..it freaks me out when it pops out! LOL

What I miss: sleeping through the night without getting up to pee 3 or 4 times

What I am looking forward to: Everything! i can't wait to meet him, I can't wait to see how Austin reacts, I can't wait to get his room finished, and I can't wait for his furniture and crib to be delivered this week!

Weekly Wisdom: Make friends before you need them. I already knew I had amazing friends, but this last week has really proved it to me even more so.

Milestones: well...I don't know if this is a milestone..but the last thing of note is that I'm considering a VBAC. I've talked to the Dr. about it and if I go into labor on my own before the c-section date I will be trying for a VBAC. If the c-section date comes and we still have no baby...I might wait it out..not sure about that part just yet =)

Current Projects: finishing his room..it's all painted and ready for his crib and furniture which come this week!

Well Check

This morning we finally made it to the Dr. for Austin's well check! Between our busy schedule, being out of town, Austin being sick for a while..it just got put off! But I'm happy to report that the Dr says Austin is amazing as always! (which we already knew of course ;) hehe ) He is 30.5 lbs (50th percentile) and 2 ft 11inches tall! (80th percentile) The Dr. checked everything out and all is good..he was super surprised that Austin was wearing Big Boy underwear and asked if we just started potty training..I reminded him that we have been trained since 22 months and he was really shocked! He said "well i wont tell the other moms that come in today, because they will be jealous!" I'm so proud of my big boy! he is truly amazing!! Austin had to get one shot today but he didn't even cry! He looked at the Nurse like "hey! what was that for?!" and was fine! Good check up!

We came home and ate some breakfast and have been hanging out with Uncle Matt. Austin just LOVES his Uncle!! It's really cute to see him following Matt around the house hehe! Glad he is here for a visit!

Happy 4th of July!

This was the first year that we have spent the 4th of July at home, ever! It was kinda weird, but good! We went to the Georgetown festival where they had pony rides, an awesome petting zoo (Austin loved the ducks!), rides, lots of food, shopping, music and all kinds of fun stuff! We walked around until we couldn't stand the heat anymore! On the way home we got a snow cone from Zydeco Ice which is sooo good! Even Uncle Matthew was impressed haha! later that night we headed out for the fireworks! I have to say I wasn't expecting too much, but they were awesome! We had a great spot by the softball fields where we spread out a blanket, ate dinner, and waited for the show. There was music playing and it was pretty cool to hear the star spangled Banner playing just before the fireworks started. They were really cool and it was so much fun watching Austin's reaction. The first 5 mins we got a "woah!!!" after every single one! LOL then he sat down in my lap and watched in amazement. At the very end people started clapping, Austin had a delayed response which was pretty funny. He was the only one clapping and saying "YAY!!!!" Too cute!! i love that kid! Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July!!

My Baby Shower!

Last weekend was my Baby shower!!! I feel so blessed, so lucky and so special that I had SO many friends who wanted to help throw me a shower! The shower was a brunch at Silver and Stone, which is amazing! It's fancy and the food is sooo yummy! It was such a perfect day! That Friday my Mom and best friend Kristin came into town. We spent the evening getting coffee, our nails done and had dinner at Toni and Luigi's..another amazing restaurant in Georgetown. We ate so much and it was all delisious!! Saturday was the shower, and Baby M got so many nice things!! He is completely set!! I don't think I have anything left to buy except for his crib haha! Saturday afternoon was shopping at the Outlet mall and dinner! My favorite purchase of the day was my new Coach diaper bag!! It's super cute and I can't wait to use it!!

So thank you to My Mom for hosting the brunch, it was such a fancy treat!
