I'm a Big Kid Now!

We did it! Day 3 is over!! Austin is tucked in bed right now and I WISH I could have a glass of wine to celebrate! haha! He did so great today, he even did a poo poo on the potty!! He is such a brave little toaster, I love him so much =) and I LOVE the fact that we will never again buy diapers or pull ups for him! I will only have one in diapers come September! Wahoo! now that's something to celebrate about! ;)

Potty training 101

Ok..it's the end of Potty training day 2, and we are still standing! Yesterday was soooo hard! I am using the 3 day potty training method and I had read it a few times in preparation so I had some idea of how hard that first day would be..or so I thought! We literally went through at least 20 pairs of underwear, had a million accidents, had to deal with him being afraid to go poop on the potty, had to run to the bathroom every 3 mins...seriously! it was sooo crazy and intense! I really wanted to pull my hair out but I stayed focused and positive! When it was bed time I went for it..no diaper! I figure we might as well conquer night time training too! Well we had an accident in the bed around 10pm. We got him up, changed the sheets and put him back down..expecting more accidents. Austin slept in till 8:30 and woke up dry!!! only one accident the entire night, I was so happy and impressed! So up and ready for day two, in our still dry undies, I was ready for another hard day. I cannot tell you how shocked I was that Austin held it for so long, would call to me or run to the bathroom when he had to go, and only had a few accidents. What was even better was that today's accidents were nothing like yesterday's. Yesterday was a full release of pee in the undies, but today was a little dibble and he would run to the potty to finish! The difference between day 1 and day 2 is so amazing! Austin is in bed, and I already checked him once and he is still dry =) I have very high hopes for tomorrow! My little baby is now my big boy. I'm so happy that this has gone so well. It really did suck yesterday and I wanted to scream at times but it was so worth it!! And now I wont have two in diapers come September haha!

Round 2..and 3

After a little break from the snow Austin brought me his coat and shoes, he was ready to go play again! The snow was so much fun! I even tried to make Austin do a snow angel..he didn't like that part too much lol. But other than that he was having a blast! Running around, chasing Tinkerbell, and playing with the snow! It was so cute. What a great day with my baby boy! The snow sure is pretty but I wouldn't want to deal with it every day! When Daddy got home I started making his Birthday dinner and he and Austin went out in the snow together. I snuck outside to snap a few pictures of them and found them having a snowball fight with the family across the street! So glad we had a snow day in Georgetown! I have some super cute videos but for some reason they are taking forever to upload on blogger..so I guess you will just have to check Facebook to view them =)

A break from the snow

We took a break from playing in the snow since it was coming down so hard! Austin loved looking out the window to watch it...

SNOW!

It's really snowing!! This is our first time to experience snow in Georgetown!! It was coming down around 8 am but wasn't really sticking...two hours later and the house and yard was covered! I got Austin bundled up and we ventured out, although I think Tinkerbell liked it more than he did lol. The dog was running around trying to eat the flakes coming down, which of course made Austin and I laugh. It was fun, but it was really snowing hard so we came back inside. I hope to go out again later and make some snow angels! =)Our foot prints from earlier are almost covered up already! Crazy Texas weather!!

Night Night

Tim and I were talking about Austin the other day, and just how lucky we are. He is an amazing kid! He is very well behaved, has slept through the night since he was 8 weeks, always sweet, always smiling..I mean really there has to be something very wrong for him to get upset. I really have to say that while I do believe that part of having such an awesome kid is luck but you have to admit part of it has to be parenting!! LOL not trying to toot my own horn or anything, but Tim and I were talking about how we know parents who have kids OLDER than Austin that are not good sleepers. I would go crazy if Austin still wasn't sleeping through the night. He is so good, every night we say "Ok its night night time" We carry him upstairs, he waves goodnight (which is so cute!), we read our story, we put him in the crib..and that's it! No fights, no screaming, no trying to get out of bed. He goes right to sleep. I truly believe that we have BabyWise to thank for that! I have used it from day one with Austin and plan to do the same with Baby #2. Some people think it's a little harsh, saying that if your child isn't sleeping through the night by age 12 weeks then you're doing something wrong! But honestly, I agree. There is no reason for the constant up and down, esp when they are as old as Austin is. I also believe that a child's demeanour has a lot to do with what kind of sleeper they are. Little ones can't be expected to be happy and well behaved all the time if they are constantly tired! So if you or anyone you know is having "sleeping issues" get the book Babywise and start over! LOL

Next on our parenting adventure...potty training! We are about 2 days away from being out of diapers. When we run out, I'm not buying any more! We will attempt potty training. I know Austin is still young so if it's a NO go I will wait a few more months, But he is showing so many signs of being ready that I'm hoping it works!! wish us luck!

Sour Patch Kids

We've had a great weekend! Friday I made a yummy pot roast for dinner and we had a movie night. Sat we got up and went to lunch then got the boys Hair cuts. Austin was NOT thrilled about sitting in the big chair but as soon as the lady gave him a sucker he was fine lol. After Daddy got his hair cut we all went to the park to play. The weather was only OK, I sure wish the sun had been out more! but it was still nice to get out. We came home and took a nap before Aunt Kristin got here! She and her boyfriend Dean stoped by on their way back to Ft. Worth. He had some snacks and chatted for a while. Austin loves seeing Aunt Kristin and was even sharing his trucks with Dean! Dean meets our seal of approval..for now ;) LOL After they left we had dinner with the Lot's. It was nice to catch up with them and enjoy some mexican food. The rest of the evening was filled with TV watching and our first "craving run". I sent Tim out because I couldn't stand it anymore, I had to have...SOUR PATCH KIDS! You know, those sweet and sour candies. I have no idea why but that's what I was craving, and like a good hubby he went and got them for me =)

Today Tim and Austin are at the park playing and when they get home we'll have lunch and take it easy. Good Family Weekend!

12 weeks!

A friend told me about this cool site that has questions and a journal as a way of keeping up with your pregnancy. Well I've decided to do it..but here on my blog. So I will update every so often (with a picture too, I hope!) as a way to share this experience with our friends and family that are far away =)

How far along are you? I'm in my 12th week!

Total weight gain/loss: well i got on the scale today and it said I had lost 10 lbs! which freaked me out..so i got on again and it was normal. at my appointment in Jan. I had lost a few lbs, but I've gained those back, so guess I'm the same technically. Which is very weird, because my belly is getting big! Baby #2 sure is showing a lot faster than #1 did!

Maternity clothes? yep! I broke down and bought a pair of Maternity jeans over the weekend. I figured I could get away with shorts and capris, but its still chilly out! My tummy is definitely starting to change! Tim was rubbing my belly last night and said "oh my god, your stomach is hard!!" Well duh!! lol

Stretch marks? no comment lol

Best moment this week: On Tuesday I actually had energy!! I'm hoping this is a sign that I'm getting over the "blah" phase of this pregnancy. I made tuna salad, cleaned the house, did laundry, cooked chicken tortilla soup for dinner..it was a good day!

Movement: Nothing yet!

Food cravings: Yes, nothing that I've kept craving but every now and then I'll just have a strange craving hit me. The other day it was salty pretzels, another time it was a diet coke. oh and pop tarts LOL

Gender: it's killing me not to know what it is! I'm hoping we will know around April 1st, and I will be telling everyone asap!

Labor Signs: nope!

Belly Button in or out? still a flat innie

What I miss: Energy, standing up without being dizzy, getting out as much as I used to.

What I am looking forward to: Having all my energy back..well..i'll settle for 80% of it ;) Also looking forward to knowing the sex!

Weekly Wisdom: Some times it's worth it to pay someone lol. I am lucky enough to have a wonderful husband who realizes that I just can't do it all right now! We've hired our housekeeper to come every other week..and its so wonderful!!

Milestones: belly is now starting to show.

Current Projects: I always have a project..or 4 going. =) Right now I'm planning Austin's Birthday party, and trying to finish our playroom. We bought paint and will be covering up the red wall with clouds! Can't wait till it all comes together.

An Award

My Friend Jennifer (who is amazing!) gave me a blogger award! In winning I am suppose to tell you 7 things about myself and pass along the award. So here we go..some of you might know me pretty well so lets see if I can come up with some interesting stuff =)

1. I miss Austin when he goes to sleep. Tim usually makes fun of me but it never fails..almost every night around 9 or 10 I'll look at Tim and say "I miss tooter". He laughs and says something like "you know he's right upstairs, right?" or "well go get him!". Some times I will sneak into his room at night just to check on him and watch him sleep, and other times yes I'll admit..I pull him out of bed and we rock in the rocking chair together. He he such a sweet loving boy and he has made my world so amazing. I never knew I could love someone so much and miss them even when they are just right upstairs ;)

2. I LOVE being a Mom. I wake up every morning wanting to have the best day possible with Austin. He is at such a great age right now, so sweet, so fun and so active! We get to do so many fun things together. Now...the house work part of the "stay at home mom" job..I should be better about! I will admit..I hate cleaning, I hate doing laundry, and lately I hate cooking! Luckily I have Penelope every other week now haha!

3. My biggest pet peeve is people with no follow through, no since of responsibility, and that are just "wishy washy". I have taken on a lot with our Mom's group and it has made me realize that it is hard to run a successful group of over 40 women without help! and I figure since I'm pregnant and have raging hormones I can bitch about that on my own blog for just a min! LOL I really do love my Mom's group, and I have met some truly amazing friends because of it..but it did come with a price ;) LOL

4. I like trashy TV! Some of my favorite shows really have no point but drama! better TV than real life! I love watching Lost, Grey's, The Real housewives, Tough love, Private practice, Project runway, and Heros.

5. I have a great husband! As much as I like to complain about my hubby some times (don't we all?) he really is great! He has been giving me lots of little gifts leading up to Valentine's day this year! It's been fun! So far I have gotten candy, my nails done, a pedicure, my hair done, and flowers..twice! Looking forward to spending our seventh Valentines day together!

6. I cannot stand NOT knowing what the sex of the baby is!! I think there should be a pregnancy test that says...yes you are pregnant oh and btw it's a BOY. But we should find out right at the first of April.

7. We are not telling the name of the baby, again. We did this last time with Austin, after thinking it was a good idea to ask others what they thought of our name choices we quickly discovered how wrong we were! I didn't think we would be able to keep is a secret but we did! So we will be doing that again with baby number 2! we will announce his or her name when they are born =)

I am passing this Blogger award on to my Blogger friends, be sure to post 7 things about you and pass it on! =)
